The Mandarin’s Navan Racecard

Navan Handicap Hurdle 12.50
Clarens
John Flavin’s youngster arrives here on a hat-trick after wins at Listowel and Wexford, on ground ranging from heavy to good to yielding. The obvious danger is Dixie Flyer from Henry de Bromhead’s respected yard, but he has to give the selection 10lbs and that could swing things Clarens way

Irish Stallion Farms EBF Maiden Hurdle 1.20
Au Fleuron
He has moved to Gordon Elliott with a hefty price tag after landing a bumper at Tipperary and looks the stable first string with Davy Russell taking up the reins. It’s a pretty ordinary looking field and stablemate Bust Or Bay Dee will likely give the selection most to think about in a race that won’t take much winning

John Lynch Carpets & Flooring Monksfield Novice Hurdle (Grade 3) 1.50
Ginto
This should be a showdown between the two Cullentra House inmates of Gordon Elliott, Ginto and Hollow Games. Ginto gets the nod with the course experience under his belt, having won both his starts here, one back in February and then just two weeks back on good ground. He was pretty impressive the last day and there’s surely more to come, interesting

Ladbrokes Handicap Hurdle 2.20
Gaspard Du Seuil
Henry de Bromhead’s five year old has yet to lose his maiden tag, but has been knocking on the door in his last two outings, including a close runners-up spot here over course and distance just two weeks ago. It’s another step up in grade but he’s going the right way and has valid claims with a big pull in the weights from likely favourite Jimmy Jimmy

Ladbrokes Troytown Handicap Chase (Grade B) 2.50
Definite Plan (nap)
Gordon Elliott’s nine year old is so lightly raced, and still unexposed over fences that he might well be the one to follow in this ever competitive renewal. He arrives here fresh from a win at Cheltenham in this grade, and surely has more to offer back on home soil, despite running under a penalty. Never out of the first two in four chase starts, Definite Plan should be on the premises once again, and has great each way claims at the least

Boardsmill Stud Irish EBF Beginners Chase 3.20
Mount Leinster (nb)
He started favourite on his chasing bow at Wexford, and led for a long way before the heavy ground tired him into making a couple of mistakes, finishing third by just over a length. This firmer surface should be just what’s needed considering his record on the flat, and he could not be in better hands than with Willie Mullins. A bold show is expected from the front once again

Coolmore N.H. Sires In Swoop Irish EBF Mares Flat Race (Listed) 3.50
Flemencello
It’s probably best to side with Willie Mullins once more with this Flemensfirth mare, who won on debut at Kilbeggan before a decent effort to finish third in this grade at Gowran Park. The Model Kingdom was pretty impressive on debut at Galway and rates the main danger, but Flemencello should strip fitter this time around so nudges it
